Screenplay Reading

Only one lucky script submission will have a "professional" performance reading of their screenplay at this year's festival. A talented group of actors and actresses from the Castle Rock Players community theater group will provide the unique experience of allowing a screenwriter's work to be "heard" for the first time.

The Bit
A young up and coming comedian accidentally invokes an ancient curse. Pedro is a funny, young, Native American comedian who gets invited to the world renowned Funny Factory in Hollywood by Kenny Templeton, a famous comic. Kenny has discovered that the comic bit that Pedro performs, invokes an ancient Indian curse that kills both figuratively and literally. Kenny's plan is to use Pedro and his "bit" to kill off Karen, another comedian who's in direct competition for a late night network hosting job. What happens to Kenny's plan when Pedro and Karen fall in love?
